Armedia Federal Services Division Earns CMMI® Level 3 Rating for Second Time
[WASHINGTON, 9/10/13] – Armedia LLC announced today that its Federal Services Division has been reappraised at maturity Level 3 of the CMMI® Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI®) for its ability to deliver effective and efficient performance to public sector clients.
CMMI® is a process improvement approach that has become the standard for measuring an organization’s ability to apply a process-based methodology to software development. CMMI® is recognized as the standard of excellence in government and industry, and the US Department of Defense recognizes CMMI® ratings to be predictive of organizational performance.
An appraisal at maturity level 3 indicates the organization is performing at a “defined” level. At this level, processes are well characterized and understood across the organization as a whole, and each project’s processes are tailored from these defined standards to drive product quality, project efficiencies and cost savings.
The appraisal was done using the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) Standard CMMI® Appraisal Method for Process Improvement (SCAMPI?) which vigorously tests process and product excellence using an integrated set of processes applied across Armedia’s Federal Services Division. The appraisal was performed by Albert Truesdale of Advanced Process Consulting, an independent and SEI-Certified SCAMPI? Lead Appraiser.
“This appraisal represents a significant milestone in our constant endeavor to align quality processes with talented staff,” said James Bailey, President of Armedia. “In a time when the public sector’s mission objectives are becoming harder to achieve as budgets shrink, being appraised at CMMI® Level 3 exemplifies Armedia’s commitment to a successful project delivery the first time thus allowing our clients to achieve faster ROI.”
This appraisal marks the second time in the company’s 11-year history that Armedia’s Federal Services Division has been appraised at CMMI® Level 3. This achievement marks a significant milestone for Armedia as they join an elite group of small businesses to be successfully reappraised at CMMI® Level 3. By proving its ability to maintain the discipline required to run a CMMI® appraised center, Armedia can continue to bid on government contracts that require CMMI® maturity level ratings.
