Armedia Develops SharePoint Migration Strategy for NOLHGA

by | Sep 9, 2010

Atlanta, GA—September 9, 2010—Armedia, LLC, a leading software and consulting firm specializing in content management IT solutions, announced today it has developed a SharePoint migration strategy for content management and web content publishing for the National Organization of Life and Health Insurance Guaranty Associations (NOLHGA).

NOLHGA was looking for an alternative to its proprietary Domino-based platform and engaged Armedia to provide options for a more robust, feature-rich system. Following a full system review and needs assessment, Armedia provided strategy and high level design for a Microsoft SharePoint solution, including migration of content from the existing legacy platform. Armedia continues provide to work closely with NOLGHA’s technical department as the organization works towards a full SharePoint deployment.

“We were attracted to Armedia’s full lifecycle expertise in content management and proven track record, particularly since we not only needed technical implementation skills but also strategy and direction on choice of platform and migration of content,” said Dan Hicks, NOLHGA’s Manager of Information Systems. “We are pleased with the progress we have made toward a system that more fully meets the needs of our member associations.”

“Armedia is delighted to have assisted NOLHGA with this initiative,” said Jim Nasr, Armedia’s Chief Executive Officer. “Migration from one content management platform to another is not a trivial task and we believe our experience and expertise will facilitate NOLHGA to complete this migration successfully and within budget.”

The National Organization of Life and Health Insurance Guaranty Associations (NOLHGA) is a voluntary association made up of the life and health insurance guaranty associations of all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. NOLHGA was founded in 1983 when the state guaranty associations determined that there was a need for a mechanism to help them coordinate their efforts to provide protection to policyholders when a life or health insurance company insolvency affects people in many states. Since its creation in 1983, NOLHGA has assisted its member guaranty associations in guaranteeing more than $21.2 billion in coverage benefits for policyholders and annuitants of insolvent companies.
