ATLANTA and LOS ANGELES – Aug. 27, 2007 – Language Weaver, a leading software company developing enterprise software for the automated translation of human languages, has signed a strategic marketing and integration agreement with Atlanta-based Armedia LLC., a leading provider of software and services for content-rich solutions using packaged and open-source applications.
Armedia’s customer based solution integrates EMC Documentum with Language Weaver’s statistical machine translation software, enabling automated language translation capabilities for EMC Documentum users from within any of Documentum’s familiar web interfaces. Upon request, the translation into English or another supported language is available within minutes and the user is notified via email. In addition, Armedia has become a reseller of Language Weaver’s software and will provide software support services as well as customization and integration services.
The alliance expands Language Weaver’s presence in both the government and business-to-business services markets, and adds automated language capabilities and offerings to Armedia’s competencies. Armedia’s expertise in other content management systems, both commercial, such as FileNet or Microsoft Sharepoint, and open source, such as Alfresco and Joomla, has resulted in a wide range of integration options available to the end user. Languages supported include all 37 language pairs that Language Weaver offers.
“The true power of this integration lies in the time, cost and effort saved, as well as the sheer wealth of information unlocked. Without this automated translation capability, much of it would remain buried in foreign language repositories,” said James Bailey, President and CFO for Armedia.
Armedia is an 8(a)/SDB business and technology consulting firm that specializes in enterprise solutions, particularly content management, application security, and application architecture. Armedia has a Federal Services practice to apply its technology to the Federal Government; the Language Weaver integration for EMC Documentum is available to government customers via Armedia’s GSA contract #GS-35F-0891P. Armedia has initially provided integration between EMC Documentum, Language Weaver, and related information technology services for the DIA.
Kirti Vashee, vice president of sales and marketing for Language Weaver, said, “In an increasingly multilingual world, businesses that can quickly share information across languages will build competitive advantage. This solution offers both the government and global enterprise customer easy management and expanded access to knowledge assets.”
